• Assist in marketing of finished and products of enterprises.
• Reccomends for quality certification like EPM / ISO for  products & enterprises.
• Identifies and promotes clusters and growth centers in the districts.
• Pomotes & Rehabilities cottage, Handicraft and coir enterprises.
• Formation of Artisans cooperative for development of cottage & Handicraft enterprises.
• Assistance to entrepreneur under single window facilities.
• Co-operation and co-ordination of line department for development in enterprise sector.

PROGRAMMES IMPLEMENTED THROUGH DIC

• PRIME Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)

The Scheme is in implemention from 2008-09 with an objective to gererate Employment

Scheme:

All economically viable activities under industrial enterprise and service sector.

Area of operation:

Urban area within population of 20,000 and more and all rural area in the District.

Project cost:

• Industrial enterprise with project cost up to 25 lakhs  preferably project cost from 10 lakhs.
• Service enterprise with  investment up to 10 lakh, preferably from 5 lakhs and above.

Eligibility:

• Age: 18 years & above.
• Qualification: 8th pass for project cost above 5 lakhs in service enterprise and more than 10 lakhs in industrial enterprise.
• Margin Money(Subsidy):
• 15 % and 25 % for General entrepreneur in urban & Rural area respectively.
• 25 % and 35% for Special category i. e. Sc/ST/OBC/ Women/ Physically Challenged/ Minor Community/ Ex-service man in urban and rural area respectively.
• Income Criteria:

No Celling

• Promoter’s Contribution:

10 % and 5 % of the project cost for General & Special category respectively.

• Inteligibility Criteria:
• Enterprise in negative list.
• Beneficiaries assisted under other subsidy linked scheme.
• Defaulters to Banks/Financial Institutions.
• Other inelligible criteria as per the Banking terms.

MSME Sector:

• Eligibility : Enterpreneurs with 18 years and above with preference to Technical entrepreneur.
• Assistance provided under Single Window Facilities.
• Issue of Entrerpreneurs Memorandum Part-1 for  proposed and Enterpreneurs Memorandum Part-II for existing enterprise.
• Supply of Project Reports/ Project Profilies.
• Recommendation for availing IPR benefits.
• Organising awareness, exhibition and marketing assistance.

Cluster Development Programme:

• Identification and growth of Cluster in the District.
• Providing assistance and Techno economic guidance for sustenance of the Cluster.

• Handicraft & Cottage Sector
• Handicraft Sector:

Identification Training and Promotion of Hnadicraft, coir & Cottage enterprises individual,  SHG and Co-operative sector.

• Implementation of Cluster Programme
• Craft Village Programme under Handicraft

Handicraft & Coir Enterprise:

• Eligibility: Traditional and Trained artisan in Handicraft and Coir sector.
• Age: 18 years and above.
• Project Cost : Up to ` 50,000/-
• Subsidy :  ` 7500/- for enterprise on availing finance from Banks.

Rehabilitation of Handicraft & Coir Artisan

• Project Cost : Up to ` 25,000/-
• Subsidy :  ` 5000/- for enterprise on availing finance from Banks.
